Siargao Island is famous for surfing during the best months of August through November.
Cloud 9 The now-famous right-hander on Siargao Island is a thick, pitching peak takeoff over a reef shelf followed by a hollow section and a clean exit into the channel or a pinching section, depending on swell direction. The wave works on typhoon season groundswell from two feet up to eight feet Hawaiian at peak high tide. On a clean easterly swell and offshore southwest wind, Cloud 9 can be mechanically perfect, with a guaranteed barrel on every wave.

During May, June and July, the surf is generally smaller but can be epic if a typhoon swell is showing .
From December to March , time to search! The winds are often strong at Cloud 9 area but the swell is always big and you can look for other, uncrowded and more protected surf spots.

Siargao Island if famous for sport fishing. Year-round fishing includes sailfish, jack and giant trivially , yellow fin tuna, skipjack tuna, dorado and with a bit of luck, marlin.
March to May is big-game fishing season for sailfish , for which Siargao Island is famous for. Wahoo (tangigue) and yellow fin tuna are also found during this time. Trolling for dorado (also known as dolphin fish and mahi- mahi) is possible from August to November.

About a two-hour boat ride from General Luna is a beautiful national park. Sohoton cave and lagoon it is the premier day trip destination . Swim in crystal clear waters with the rare non stinging jelly fish and let the locals guide you to the caves and jumping rocks. A must see for all travelers
about 20 min boat ride from cloud nine or a 40min motor bike drive. Rock pools of magpaponko only exposed at low tide. it is a good place to spend half a day,swim in crystal clear water and just relax and enjoy the row beauty of the place.
there are other boat trips and tours to islands like mammon or La Janosa . Caob lagoon accessed through the mangroves of del carmen. You can also hire a van or a motor bike and tour up north of Siargao Island were you can find small villages , waterfalls ,white sand beaches and
