I started out breast feeding him and then had to begin pumping because of his weight lose in the hospital he dropped down to 5lbs 8 oz while in the hospital. He originally latched on really well, but would fall asleep during feedings so that could explain his weight lose. He also had jaundice and had to be treated with lights in the hospital and a light blanket now at home. He is now back up to his birth weight and the jaundice is improving each day, but I am still pumping and feeding it to him in bottles. He will latch on about 50% of the time and feed for 5 15 minutes and then fall asleep, so I have to continue with the bottles for now. Has anyone else transitioned back to only breast feeding after using bottles I am concerned that he will not latch on soon because it is easier to take the bottle than to nurse. Any advice on getting him back to full time nursing instead of the bottles? Everyone just keeps telling me he needs to gain weight and get stronger, but by that time, he probably will not want to nurse anymore. Any advice or suggestions would really help me!!
